Reorder pages in a PDF

Drag pages into a new order, or use the move buttons. Original page numbers stay visible so you can track what moved. Everything happens in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.

How it works

Your browser downloads two small toolkits and runs them locally: pdf.js draws the page previews you drag around, and pdf-lib builds the file you download.

Reordering copies every page across into the new sequence, exactly as it was, using pdf-lib. Nothing is decoded or re-encoded, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution regardless of where a page ends up.

Because the work happens on your device, there is no upload, no queue, and no server holding your document.

Questions

What is the number on each page?

That is the page’s original position in your file. It never changes as you reorder, so you can always see what moved where. The order you download in is simply whatever order the tiles are in on screen.

Will my pages lose quality?

No. Reordering copies each page across exactly, not re-rendering it, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. Only the order changes; the content of every page is byte for byte the same.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Both the page previews and the actual reordering happen inside your browser, using pdf.js for the thumbnails and pdf-lib for the output, which your browser downloads once and runs locally. Your file never leaves your device.

Need to rotate or remove pages too?

Those are separate tools here, one job each. Rotate PDF turns pages 90 degrees at a time, and Delete pages removes the ones you do not want. Reordering is all this tool does. Rotate PDF.

Can this combine pages from more than one file?

Not directly. This tool only reorders the pages already in the one PDF you load. To bring pages from several files together first, use the merge tool, then reorder the result here if you need to. Merge PDF.

Does this add blank pages, or change page sizes?

No. It only changes the sequence pages appear in. Nothing is inserted, removed, resized, or redrawn.

What does "Compress this PDF first" do on the result?

It sends your reordered PDF straight to the compress tool without you having to download it and pick it again. The file is held briefly in your browser’s own storage, never sent anywhere, and is deleted the moment the compress tool loads it.

Does this work offline?

Yes. Tap Use offline, or just use the tool once, and it keeps working with no connection at all. Your files never travel anywhere. With your internet switched off, you can watch that be true.
